Lisa joined the St James's community in 2018 and developed profound
connections with a number of people who responded to her authenticity
and generous spirit. We very much appreciated her quiet and reflective presence - and her underlying steely resolve and ability to cut through to what really
matters.
Lisa was actively involved in Earth Justice activities at St James's and was a
much-valued member of the steering group for several years. She brought a
unique combination of scientific training, a strong sense of justice
and love for the world, intellectual rigour, and a pared-back and
luminous sense of liturgy. We are so grateful for all her contributions, not least writing blog
posts, joining climate marches and vigils and preparing wassail. Those
who attended eco-contemplative liturgies designed by Lisa were blessed
by her capacity for wonder and honouring of the sacred.
We miss her very much and send our love and prayers to her family. We hope to offer a St
James's memorial event for Lisa in the near future.
